132nd & Lenox Ave [NW Corner] (1915 & 2012)

"Then-n-Now!"

We found this picture of the Northwest corner of 132nd Street and Lenox Avenue alongside an article entitled "The First Black Policeman Remembers," on the Columbia 250 Website, dedicated to Columbia University's 250-year anniversary. Interesting stuff about Irish, German, Jewish, Italian, white, and black gangs in the early 1900s. "I used to like to fight, I was strong and healthy."
